Worshipful Brother Herbert F. Timmons, a member of Arcana lodge since 1909 has passed into that bourne from which no traveler returneth, death taking place on Thursday, April 11.
Brother Timmons had been an employee of the Soo Line for many years in Minneapolis, Gladstone, Mich., and for the last three years was roundhouse foreman at Glenwood, Minn.
He was born at Thompson, Georgia, April 1, 1882, and on his arrival in Minneapolis soon became a Soo Line employee at the Shoreham shops in Minneapolis.
He received his Master Mason degree in Arcana lodge on November 4, 1909, and in 1913 became Master of the lodge, serving for one year. He was also a member of Anchor chapter No. 67, Royal Arch Masons, and had membership in Arcana chapter No. 38 of Minneapolis and Minnewashta chapter at Glenwood.
Funeral services were conducted at Trinity Methodist church, Rev. Gordon E. Bailey officiating. Past Masters of Arcana lodge with Worshipful George Horn in charge assisted by Eugene Runyon, Ed Stein, George Sawyer, Art Engstrom, Alva Tufford and Ralph Hollingsworth gave the Masonic funeral rites at the church and at the grave. Interment was at Sunset Memorial ParK.
Surviving are Mrs. Timmons, a son Holmes F., a daughter, Jean Elizabeth; two brothers, George V. Timmons of Birmingham, Ala., Thomas T. Timmons of Carrollton, Ala., and a sister, Mrs. J. C. Irving of Aitkins, S. C.
To these relatives and his many friends Arcana lodge and Anchor chapter extends sincere sympathy in their great loss.
